DJ Blackstone Grant

The DJ Blackstone Grant was created to honor the memory and legacy of DJ Blackstone, a pioneer of the San Francisco house music scene who dedicated over 35 years to promoting events, spinning records, and uplifting the community. As co-founder of the house music label Tarantic Records, DJ Blackstone released many house music tracks and played at some of San Francisco's most iconic venues, including Club Universe, Pleasure Dome, Powerhouse, DNA Lounge, EndUp, 1015 Folsom, and countless others.

Blackstone was especially known for his dedication to teaching and mentoring emerging DJs, helping to shape the next generation of talent in the music community. He will be deeply missed by the San Francisco Bay Area electronic music community and beyond.

About the Grant

To celebrate DJ Blackstone’s lasting contributions, Music Connects Foundation launched the DJ Blackstone Grant. This annual grant offers up to $3,000 to support an artist’s continuing education, skills development, or vocational resources to advance their DJ or artist career.
